HAPPY NEW YEAR, HAPPY WIFE!

Goodbye 2024 and hello brand new 2025!! After a tumultuous end to 2024 due to the two back to back hurricanes (in which we sustained major damages to our properties), we were ready to just quietly let the new year slip on in, anchored alone at our favorite nearby Fantasy Island

We did a lot of the work ourselves to our Airbnb units and between that, dealing with insurance adjusters and so on, I think this time may be the happiest I’ve been to just “let the ropes go”

Its something I never take for granted, the fact that we can just leave and take our whole house with us. No packing, no traveling, no traffic lines, no waiting for anything…just being free!!

We left at midday on the 30th for our quick 2 day stay away as we have to get right back to work as soon as the attach ourselves to the dock again. We had to wait for the very dense fog to lift but halfway to the islands it set in again making navigation very difficult and left us having to rely on radar

We anchored at around 2.30 and immediately made a lunch on the grill, took Cali to the beach and that first night we enjoyed a good bottle of wine and a cheeseboard for dinner up on the helm

On old years eye day we took time in the morning to sort our year end paperwork, then had lunch at Jerry’s dockside grill with a cocktail of two in the sun.

We made a delicious dinner and dessert while watching out the clock for the New Year to ring in.

We laugh when we are on board because 9pm is called boaters midnight for a reason and this day was no different. We both fell asleep at around 11pm and woke early to our brand new Year!

We had a great breakfast together and made the short trip back home Its amazing to me how, such a small amount of time on the water can adjust your attitude Changes in latitude, changes in attitude as Jimmy Buffet well knew.

We remain grateful and blessed…for our Happy Wife, for our Happy Life and for all the beauty that surrounds us and that includes YOU if you are reading this. Thank you for following along on our journey and we hope that, if a life like ours inspires you, that you too will take that leap of faith and just go out and DO IT!
